Alicia Gallo is the Senior Manager of Strategic Communications, where she is responsible for helping Main Street America (MSA) reach new audiences and expanding the impact of the organization’s work through the promotion of MSA’s core programs, services, and mission, as well as developing and executing marketing campaigns for special projects. Alicia also serves as a key liaison between MSA and the media, and plays a critical role in the organization’s day-to-day and big-picture digital content strategy.

Alicia’s professional work experience and passion for place-based community and economic development began in 2010 when she joined Richmond Main Street Initiative (RMSI) as Outreach Coordinator through the Bay Area Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) AmeriCorps Vista program. During her tenure at RMSI, Alicia also served as Programs & Communications Manager and Interim Executive Director, where she played an integral role in relaunching the organization’s neighborhood ambassador program, developing the program’s communications strategies, building lasting relationships with a wide array of stakeholders, and managing community events, special projects, and small business technical assistance programs.

Prior to joining Main Street America, Alicia worked as the Marketing & Communications consultant for California Main Street and Interim Grants Manager for YES Nature to Neighborhoods. She is a graduate of Mills College, with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and double minor in Spanish and Spanish American Studies and Studio Art. Alicia enjoys getting to know places through their food, public art, and off-beat attractions, and exploring the fascinating worlds of film noir, food history, and fungi.
