MSA Leadership Transition Update

May 3, 2022 | Leadership Transition Update | By: Darryl Young, Board Chair, Main Street America |

Dear Main Street America Network,

On behalf of the Main Street America Board of Directors, I am delighted to announce that Hannah White has been named as Main Street America’s Interim President and Chief Executive Officer. Hannah is currently Main Street America’s Managing Director, where she oversees the organization’s membership, fundraising, education functions, as well as the organization’s general operations. Hannah will serve as the Interim President & CEO beginning July 1, 2022, when Patrice Frey vacates the position, and will remain in the position until a permanent CEO is named (expected in Fall of 2022 or early Winter 2023).
Hannah has demonstrated extraordinary thoughtfulness and skill in her time at Main Street America over the last eight years, as well as true passion for supporting Main Street’s mission of helping local leaders create economically healthy and resilient Main Streets. She has led numerous high-profile and complex partnerships for Main Street, leads key funder relationships, and has overseen the evolution and development of MSA’s membership program, Main Street American Institute, and our national conference. Most recently, Hannah led the creation of Main Street America’s strategic plan through a thorough and transparent process which prioritized engagement of the MSA Board, MSA Staff, and Coordinating Program partners.

Having worked closely with Patrice in recent years to manage the day-to-day operations of the organization, Hannah is uniquely positioned to maintain the momentum of the organization during the search for the next CEO. Please join me in welcoming Hannah to this new position and thanking her for her willingness to take on this role!

Best regards,
Darryl Young
