Local leaders are looking to Opportunity Zones as a tool to attract private investment and breathe new life into their communities’ commercial corridors and business districts. With final regulations now in hand and market activity ramping up, several models for harnessing this flexible federal financing tool for socially impactful economic development have started to emerge in communities ranging from the historic Anacostia neighborhood in Washington, D.C., to rural Brookville, Indiana.
EIG and MSA will discuss programs and services designed to help communities maximize the potential of Opportunity Zones and share examples of local initiatives and investments aimed at strengthening businesses and Main Streets across the country.
