Jean BarretteWe’re pleased to welcome Jean Barrette, Nevada Main Street’s new Coordinator! In addition to overseeing the Main Street Program, Jean serves as the Program Administrator for the CDBG Program in the Governor’s Office of Economic Development.

Prior to working for the State of Nevada, Jean served as Program Specialist for the Emergency Solutions Program and the Continuum of Care for the State of Nebraska.  She also worked in the non-profit sector in the capacities of Grants Coordinator and Director. 

Before entering the non-profit and public sectors, Jean had a career with a major department store and was a sole proprietor of her own store in San Francisco’s Embarcadero Center. While in San Francisco, she taught at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Jean received her Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, with a research focus on Housing and Community Issues Across the Life Span with an emphasis on Aging in Place.
