Celebrating the 2015 Great American Main Street Award Winners
Cape Girardeau, Mo., Montclair, N.J., and Rawlins, Wyo. were selected as the 2015 Great American Main Street Award® (GAMSA) winners! The 2015 GAMSA winners have succeeded in making their towns an exciting place to live, work, play and visit through implementing the National Main Street Center’s comprehensive methodology for downtown revitalization. In each locality, the local Main Street organization has collaborated with residents, business owners and other local partners to revitalize their district by promoting the assets that makes that community special. Innovation on Main Street Awards
Main Street New Jersey, Shaw Main Street and Winnsboro Main Street are winners of the first-ever “Innovation on Main Street” awards. This award recognizes Main Street organizations for successful, sustainable initiatives that represent new approaches to existing downtown revitalization challenges or opportunities. “For the Main Street movement to continue to be successful and relevant, we will need to capitalize on changing trends, demographics and economies," says Patrice Frey, president and CEO of the National Main Street Center. "We applaud these programs for daring to innovate and for energizing the field of downtown revitalization with fresh ideas.” Learn more about each of the winners.
