VACANT Lansing. Expect Nothing; Gain Everything

VACANT Lansing is an innovative approach to community-building: special events are hosted in vacant spaces, helping people to see new opportunities in otherwise overlooked areas. VACANT event attendees have no idea what the event is until they walk through the door, nor do they know the location of the event until they receive clues the day of. Through VACANT events, communities help to create new excitement, provide a new perspective on overlooked spaces and potentially attract new businesses for vacant buildings. Attendees will learn the basics behind creating VACANT-like events in their own communities, including marketing, working with property owners and local officials, volunteer recruitment and more.
